Old Sheldon Church Ruins

Old Sheldon Church, SC
February, 2001

Dear Jake & Amelia,
We are seeing  reminders of the wars fought in the south. We drove down a small road, passing under tan arched canopy of live oak branches. The brick  ruins of the Old Sheldon Church rose out of the mist. The church was burned by Provost's British troops and then by Sherman's Union troops. The ruins are stately.
